We are looking to appoint a commercial, forward-thinking and solution focused Principal Mechanical Engineer to join our Building Services team. You can expect to become involved in:

  • The preparation and management of designs, feasibility studies, reports and contract documents.
  • Liaising directly with Clients and Contractors and promote business development.
  • Supervising a team of engineers and technicians and assist in management of project resources and costs. 
Your core duties will include:
  • Delivering exceptional technical and commercial solutions
  • Project and contract management
  • Overseeing Mechanical Services design on a range of projects

About You

 This role will suit a Principal Building Services Engineer (Mechanical) who has the desire and capabilities to develop their career within a people and client orientated construction and property consultancy. 

In order to be considered for this role, you must have:

  • HND/Degree or equivalent professional qualification
  • Significant experience of mechanical building services / HVAC design (ie. domestic water services, ventilation, heating, cooling)
  • Hands on knowledge and understanding of IES, Hevacomp and AutoCAD; experience with Revit MEP is desirable
  • Knowledge of current legislation e.g. UK Building Regulations, also Low/Zero Carbon Technologies and BREEAM
  • Excellent communication skills, collaborative and self - motivated

In order to stand out from the crowd, it is desirable for you to have:

  • Chartered Engineer (CEng) or IEng, BEng with mechanical engineering experience
  • Knowledge of construction industry design processes and procurement arrangements
  • Excellent design skills across a variety of sectors
  • Resource planning and management experience
  • Business development experience
