As part of our ambitious growth strategy, we are looking to appoint a Senior Building Surveyor to be based in Bristol. Joining a supportive network as part of a national team, you can expect to receive valuable training, guidance and genuine scope for career development.

As Senior Building Surveyor you will plan and manage project resources, prepare, and oversee designs / reports, and have day-to-day control of internal costs and fee invoices. You will have the opportunity to be able to mentor more junior staff, providing support with their technical development. Additionally, you will be responsible for liaising directly with clients and other stakeholders as appropriate.

This role provides a challenging and exciting opportunity to develop within a growing dynamic team, supported by expertise across our multi-disciplinary consultancy!
 

You can expect to become involved in:

  • A range of project and professional work in Bristol and the South West region.
  • A major flagship heritage scheme, amongst others. 
Your core duties will include:
 
  • Running large and/or complex projects, monitoring progress and expenditure, and planning and managing project resources
  • Providing assistance with the bid process and undertaking business development activities 
  • Preparing and overseeing designs and reports
  • Undertaking surveys in accordance with the firm’s procedures
  • Representing the firm at client meetings, presentations etc
  • Monitoring day to day programming and planning
  • Assisting with planning and managing project resources including technical development of junior staff

About You

Our ideal Senior Building Surveyor must have: 
    • Knowledge of building principles, preparing plans and specifications
    • JCT and NEC3 contract administration experience
    • Experience already working within a Building Surveying role
    • Ability to monitor and report on progress and expenditure of projects, with sound knowledge of drafting technical documents
It would be nice for you to have:
  • The ability to work well in a team and motivated to deliver excellence 
  • A commitment to delivering a high-quality client experience
  • The ability to work to deadlines and manage your time with multiple tasks 
  • RICS Chartered status
