We are looking to appoint an Intermediate Geo-Environmental Engineer to join the central team in Leicester.

As part of our established Environmental team, you'll support the delivery of contaminated land and geotechnical projects across a diverse range of sectors. Working alongside experienced specialists, you'll gain valuable hands-on experience, develop your technical expertise and contribute to projects that make a real impact.

From day one, you'll receive tailored mentoring and support to help you progress within either the Geo-Environmental or Geotechnical discipline, with structured development towards chartership and other professional qualifications.

As a multi-disciplinary practice, you'll collaborate with talented colleagues across a wide range of disciplines, gaining exposure to varied and high-profile projects that will continue to develop your technical skills and experience.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Attend site to undertake ground investigations, site walkovers and environmental monitoring.
  • Assist with the delivery of Phase 1 and Phase 2 Ground Investigation Reports.
  • Support the Environmental team with the delivery of geo-environmental and geotechnical projects.
  • Liaise with project managers, clients and colleagues to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Develop your technical knowledge of contaminated land, site investigation and geotechnical reporting through hands-on project experience.

About You

Our ideal Intermediate Geo-Environmental Engineer should have: 

  • A relevant degree in Engineering, Geology, Geography or a related scientific discipline.
  • Experience in a geo-environmental or geotechnical role, with a good understanding of standard site investigation techniques.
  • A willingness to learn and develop your knowledge across a range of environmental specialisms.
  • Experience of, or the ability to, supervise site investigation contractors in accordance with CDM 2015.
  • Experience managing small site investigation projects and supporting the delivery of larger projects.
  • Experience of, or an understanding of, preparing Phase 1 Geo-Environmental Desk Studies, factual reports and contributing to interpretative Phase 2 Site Investigation Reports.
  • An interest in supporting the preparation of Flood Risk Assessments.
  • Awareness of project financial processes, including fee recovery.
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and work to tight deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the confidence to communicate effectively in writing, verbally and through technical drawings.
  • A proactive, self-motivated and collaborative approach to work.
  • Awareness and application of relevant British Standards, including BS 5930, BS EN 1997-1 & 2 and BS 10175.
  • Knowledge of AGS data format, OpenGround, QGIS, AutoCAD and Microsoft Office.
  • Full UK driving licence would be beneficial as projects are across the UK
  • IOSH Safe Supervision of Geotechnical Sites or SSSTS qualification.
  • A current CSCS Card beneficial.
  • CAT and Genny training beneficial.
