We have a unique opportunity to appoint a Project Planning & Programming Lead within our Project Management team. This role provides a challenging and exciting opportunity to develop a rewarding career, alongside talented and experienced professionals across our multi-disciplinary consultancy.

As a Project Planning & Programming Lead, you will be responsible for the development and maintenance of detailed project programmes for complex projects. This role is essential to leading and managing collaborative planning sessions with clients, project teams and contractors, and ensuring excellent programme standards and procedures are maintained.

Other responsibilities of the role include:

  • Working with internal project teams to determine work breakdown structures, sequencing of activities, critical path, logic and dependencies for pre-construction design and management activities, as well as construction phase activities
  • Reviewing Contractors Project programmes to ensure realistic allowance for durations through production rate analysis, logic and dependencies sequencing, critical path analysis and if required resource levelling
  • Undertaking critical path evaluation and overall programme integrity evaluation
  • Production of weekly / monthly dashboards and reports as required
  • Ensuring changes as required by the form of contract are identified on the Contractors project programme, and Pick Everard’s internal programme, identifying programme impacts and development of mitigation options
  • Reviewing change and impact of consultant and contractor performance against programme

With 12 offices across the UK, we are flexible on where the successful Project Planning & Programming Lead is located.

About You

Essential Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years post qualification experience as a planner
  • Degree qualified (in a construction related subject)
  • Professional membership of a relevant professional body (e.g., APM, CIOB) – or progression towards achieving membership

Other skills and knowledge we would like you to have:

  • Proficient in using industry planning software (Primavera P6, Asta Power Project and/or Microsoft Project
  • Ability to plan and organise, considering risks and changing circumstances
  • Excellent communication – both written and verbal
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Good knowledge of standard industry forms of contract (NEC, JCT suites)
  • Excellent commercial and financial management skills
  • NEC PM Accreditation – desirable

The position will require travel to client meetings and other UK sites, therefore a full UK driving licence will be essential.
