Our Opportunity

With great levels of business growth and a vast pipeline of work, our Building Surveying discipline are looking to appoint a proactive and collaborative Building Surveyor with historic buildings / conservation experience, to join our growing team in London.

The successful Heritage Building Surveyor will work within the Building Surveying team on a world leading Heritage site and range of schemes for an ever-growing client mix; your key duties will include contract administration, undertaking surveys, inspections, and schedules.

About You

Essential Requirements:

  • 3+ years working in the heritage and culture sector with experience working with grade 1 and schedule ancient monuments essential
  • Chartered Building Surveyor of 7+ years relevant experience as above
  • RICS building surveying/conservation accreditation 

Further skills and experience we require:

  • Excellent technical knowledge including administration of building contracts and working knowledge of NEC PSC contracts
  • Experience of delivering end to end heritage projects within occupied sites and visitor attractions  
  • Ability to manage, monitor and control workload and resource allocation
  • Ability to manage major complex projects and lead multidisciplinary project teams
  • Currently holding or working towards IHBC membership
  • In depth knowledge of heritage and planning legislation and process
  • Experience working with heritage organisations either English Heritage, National Trust or within a world heritage site
  • Excellent communication skills, report writing and presentation skills at project level
