We are looking for a Graduate Structural Engineer to join our team in Nottingham. This is a great opportunity for a recent Graduate who is looking to embark on their Structural Engineering career.

As a Graduate, you are an important recruit for the future of our practice. We are looking for a driven and dedicated individual who will help our business to continue to grow and succeed.

You will have support to achieve your Chartered status, with mentors for both IStructE and ICE, and access to regular workshops and seminars tailored to signing off the core objectives as part of the Chartership process.

As Graduate Structural Engineer, you will assist the structural engineering team with the design and management of key projects across an array of sectors to include residential, highway schemes, local authority, leisure, defence, education, healthcare and heritage. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Prepare drawings from engineer’s sketches
  • Undertake elemental design calculations
  • Prepare reinforcement detail drawings and bending schedules
  • Carry out general administration and issuing of drawings
  • Assist with on-site survey work

Situated from our new central Nottingham offices, you will work as part of our interdisciplinary practice, in a collaborative and design focused team.

About You

Essential requirements:

  • A degree in Civil or Structural Engineering

Further attributes we would like you to have:

  • Knowledge of basic engineering principles
  • Knowledge of British Standards / Euro Codes
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD
  • Strong communication skills – both written and verbal
  • Good team player
  • Ability to work to deadlines and manage time with multiple tasks
