As part of our ambitious growth strategy, we are looking to appoint an enthusiastic Cost Manager in the North of England, to work from either our Leeds or Sheffield offices. Joining a supportive network as part of a national team, you can expect to receive valuable training, guidance and genuine scope for career development.

 

You can expect to become involved in:

  • Local Authority works such as library buildings, and site remediation projects.  

  • Private sector works including commercial and education projects amongst others. 

 

Your core duties will include: 

  • Preparation of cost estimates, bills of quantities, contract documents and reports.
  • Building on existing client relationships and ensuring commissions are delivered on time. 
  • Liaising directly with clients and resourcing own jobs.
  • Controlling day to day programming and planning.
  • Supporting junior colleagues on a day-to-day basis.
  • Participating in Design Team meetings, reporting on and giving advice on cost control matters.

About You

 
You will be committed to enhancing our positive working culture, by having a compassionate attitude and always treating others with respect.
 

In order to be considered for this role, you must: 

  • Have relevant experience within Cost Management in a consultancy environment
  • Be proficient in managing projects across the built environment, conducting feasibility studies, detailed cost planning and have both pre and post contract experience. 
  • Have thorough understanding of the principal standard forms of Building Contracts including JCT and NEC3
  • Have experience liaising directly with clients
  • Have ability to control day to day programming and planning
  • Have excellent client communication skills, report writing skills, presentation skills at project level 

 

In order to stand out from the crowd, it is desirable for you:

  • To have achieved Chartership
  • To be undertaking regular CPD activities
  • To have a strong track record of work and longevity within a previous role/s
