We’re looking to appoint a talented Technician Manager - Water Civil Engineering to join our Water Civil Engineering team. This role can be carried out from a variety of offices including Leicester, Leeds, Manchester, Bristol, Glasgow or London.

 The Technician Manager - Water Civil Engineering will embed the agreed design standards for our water team and wider civil engineering discipline and will support the team in achieving these stands using our digital tools.

You'll ensure that Pick Everard's software portfolio is being utilised to its fullest capability and that colleagues can learn how to use it, while also establishing standards and best practices for productivity. You'll also oversee and support the individual Civil Engineering teams to provide a seamless support service with the key objective of improving productivity, efficiency, standardisation and consistency in agreed deliverables. 

This role will involve ad-hoc travel to different sites. 

Your core responsibilities will include:

  • Be accessible to colleagues in all offices, serving as a central conduit for all queries from the discipline.
  • Drive the understanding of populating project and asset data within models as defined by our clients to support structured data output (e.g., COBie) managed by the BIM Services Team.
  •  Regular communication with the discipline digital design teams in the business to ensure new ways of working are being communicated across the practice.
  •  Support the discipline in the development and implementation of a standard approach to the creation and management of model content, deliverables and NBS specifications.
  •  Ensure that the deliverables produce by the discipline or for the discipline are of a consistent standard, both in terms of presentation but also in terms of the background model structure.
  •  Act as the conduit and interface for the discipline in our interactions with the wider Artelia Group, especially with our colleagues in France and the Philippines.
  • Ensure workshops are undertaken with each delivery team to ensure knowledge, upskilling and improvement initiatives are being implemented.
  • Support the discipline in all aspects relating to the use or output of software portfolio and provide advanced modelling and content creation support.
  •  Researching and developing additional software and add-ins and exploring opportunities to improve existing workflows
  • Coordinating training of staff in advanced areas of modelling and creation of general guidance material which can be enhanced accordingly for the discipline.
  • Managing the undertaking of project model health checks/audits and ensure feedback is provided in a consistent and coordinated manner.
  • Coordinating with IT to ensure the necessary software licences are always available to the discipline and undertake regular review of software utilisation.
  • Ensure self-check of work and quality assurance processes and procedures are followed by the discipline. 

About You

Our ideal Technician Manager - Water Civil Engineering will have:
  • Significant and appropriate skills and experience in the production of information in the water industry or related/similar field.
  • Relevant qualifications.
  •  Excellence in multi-tasking and working to tight deadlines.
  •  Excellence in collaborating and communicating with all team members.
  • Self-motivation, friendly, efficient, and enthusiastic attitude.
  •  Experience in creating and managing AEC content along with supporting documents for varying project requirements.
  •  Experienced at working with a multi-professional team both within the UK and with overseas support on all design stages of a project.
  •  Excellence in the understanding of COBie and IFC.
  •  Knowledge of current relevant technical standards and regulations.
  • Knowledge of Dynamo is beneficial.
  •  Knowledge with interoperability workflows with Autodesk.
  •  Previous experience delivering and creating training guidance for Autodesk Products.
