Our Opportunity

We are seeking a Building Surveyor to join our growing team at Artelia UK. This role offers the opportunity to contribute directly to a diverse range of projects, delivering high-quality surveying services that support the evolving needs of our clients and the wider business.

Reporting to senior members of the team, the role will involve both hands-on project delivery and collaborative working across multiple commissions. You will work closely with colleagues and stakeholders to provide professional advice, manage projects and ensure successful outcomes across a variety of sectors.

Key elements of the role include:

  • Conducting due diligence and preparing detailed technical reports for a range of property types.
  • Managing and overseeing multiple live projects at varying stages of delivery.
  • Leading project management and contract administration duties, ensuring projects are delivered on time and to a high standard.
  • Preparing specifications, tender documentation and administering contracts.
  • Undertaking site inspections and providing on-site project oversight.
  • Working both independently and as part of a wider team to deliver client objectives.
  • Supporting the growth and development of building surveying service offerings.

You will be a skilled and motivated Building Surveyor who is RICS chartered (or working towards their chartership), with a strong background in due diligence and technical reporting. You will have a solid working knowledge of specification writing, tender preparation and contract administration, along with the confidence to manage projects independently and contribute effectively within a team environment.

This is a full-time role offering a flexible, output-focused working environment. The position will involve attending site visits and meeting stakeholders as required across project locations.

About You

You bring a strong technical foundation in building surveying and enjoy working collaboratively to deliver practical, high-quality solutions. You are comfortable balancing project delivery with client interaction and stakeholder engagement.
 

You will have:

  • RICS chartered status (or working towards their chartership)
  • Proven experience in building surveying, including project management and contract administration
  • Strong technical reporting and due diligence capabilities
  • A thorough understanding of Health and Safety regulations and best practice
  • The ability to work both independently and as part of a wider team
  • Clear and confident communication and interpersonal skills
  • A proactive and organised approach, with the ability to manage competing priorities
  • Good IT skills, including experience with Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, MS Project, SharePoint and app-based software
  • A willingness to travel to project sites as required
